Hooves of Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation is a Nebraska-based nonprofit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming neglected and at-risk equines and small farm animals. We provide safe placement, veterinary care, proper nutrition, and compassionate handling for animals that have often faced neglect, abandonment, or risk of entering the slaughter pipeline. Through hands-on rehabilitation and partnerships with local veterinarians, farriers, and agricultural professionals, we help animals regain health, trust, and quality of life. Our organization also focuses on youth education and community involvement by teaching responsible animal care, leadership, and agricultural stewardship. By combining rescue services with education and outreach, we strive to create lasting positive change for animals and the community we serve. 🐴💙

Hooves of Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation should be awarded this grant because the funding will directly impact the health, safety, and long-term well-being of rescued equines and farm animals in our care. Our organization provides immediate intervention for animals facing neglect, abandonment, or risk of entering the slaughter pipeline, ensuring they receive proper nutrition, veterinary treatment, hoof care, and rehabilitation. Many of the animals we serve require specialized feed, corrective farrier work, and consistent medical attention due to past neglect.
Grant support allows us to respond quickly to emergencies, such as evacuations caused by natural disasters like the Elm Creek Cessna Fire, which displaced multiple horses and increased our need for hay and temporary care resources. With limited funding and growing need in rural Nebraska, every dollar is used responsibly and transparently to provide direct animal care, improve shelter conditions, and expand our capacity to help more animals in crisis.
Beyond rescue, our organization strengthens the community by providing youth education opportunities focused on responsible animal care, agriculture, and leadership development. By supporting Hooves of Hope, this grant will help ensure vulnerable animals receive a second chance while fostering compassion, education, and agricultural stewardship within our community.
