This is not a flashy application. I love horses. I have been involved in the horse world most of my life. Owning, competing, breeding, stable hand, barn manager, vet tech and now rescue work. I have witnessed highs and lows of horse ownership, watched what happened during droughts, covid & economy shifts to horses. The semi- local horse rescue I work for is relocating soon, they haven't been in taking animals ( completely understandable) but the loss of them is causing a void. It's starting small, but will become bigger.
I am starting to embark on the journey of filling the void. I have a couple horses that I privately took on, owner surrender, that need a helping hand and am going to file paper work- there is quite a bit- to establish a 501c. This grant will get the first quarantine pens built on the property- I have volunteer labor, the grant will buy the supplies. I have no social media presenc tied to this, yet. Over the course of the next few weeks that will change. So much to do.
